David Brewin was editor of Tanzanian Affairs from 1984 until 2016. David worked in Tanganyika/Tanzania from 1952 until 1967 – nine years in the colonial service and six years in independent Tanzania. He served first as the Agricultural Officer for the Lake Victoria districts of Musoma, North Mara and Ukerewe followed by two years as Principal of an Agricultural Training Institute. In 1962 he took responsibility for training programmes of the Ministry of Natural Resources and founded the magazine Ukulima wa Kisasa. He subsequently worked in education in Swaziland, with the World Bank in Washington, and finally as head of education projects in Frenchspeaking countries in West Africa, based in the Ivory Coast.
